Hi! My name is Christian Rothe, I am 21 years old, a travel photographer, and originally from Mainz, Germany. I started my career as a freelance photographer and videographer at the age of 16. Traveling is an essential part of my life and work.
In my professional career, I’ve had the privilege of working for renowned travel and tourism companies such as booking.com, MeinSchiff and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, which enabled me to explore over 60 countries professionally. My commitment to the industry was recognized when my short film ‘Operation Black Bear’ was awarded the Bavarian School Film Prize in 2019.
Today, I mainly work for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, where I contribute my expertise in catalog photography, travel photography, and the production of travel films.
The awareness that our time for exploration is limited motivates me to seamlessly blend my profession and travels with photography. I strive to make my work not just a job, but a valuable part of my everyday life.

In my free time, I dedicate myself to cycling, hiking, gliding, and have a long history in fencing with the Mainzer Turnverein 1817. Taking the step to leave my comfort zone and home to venture into the wider world was one of the best decisions of my life.
My blog offers insights into my life as a photographer and videographer on tour and demonstrates how one can earn a living while traveling in both professions. I share my experiences and provide insider tips from the countries I have visited.
